Football helps you feel great

Hear from Yonas Kifle, one of our previous volunteers who lives in Latimer Road, and how he continues to give back to KatangaFC via gift aiding.

“In 2022, I took part in a football coaching volunteer project for KatangaFC. I would regularly attend scheduled football sessions, in the hope of making a difference, without even realising just how much impact I would go on to have.

Previously, I coached after-school clubs in Manchester, delivered sessions at a pre-school, as well as coached senior teams at two popular football clubs, helping them to prepare for league matches. I also raised £1,387.00 for a football charity!

Whilst I was out with KatangaFC, an issue was brought to my attention: the charity was looking for kit donations, meaning that children are having to play with inadequate football kits!

Problems need solving and that is exactly what my friend Rahel Muse and I have set out to do.

We have proudly partnered with KatangaFC, currently supporting their under 7 programs, which means the world to me because it is those children who inspired our initiative in the first place.

We have seen some amazing KatangaFC volunteers join our community, which is something that we are incredibly grateful for, with people wanting to do more and more each day.

You can get involved by emailing KatangaFC, katangafc@gmail.com as well as following us on Instagram /katangafc/. Together, we are making a huge difference.
